Art Deco design at its very best, magnificent and extremely rare early Twentieth Century Art Deco Burr Walnut veneered jewellers ‘two-person’ pedestal desk produced in England in the early 1930’s, the long rectangular top above two single and one double central pedestal with an arrangement of thirty three fabric lined, graduated drawers and single cupboard, the locks to the four frieze drawers all marked and stamped ‘Comyn and Ching, London’. Made by hand in the U.K. Comyn Ching Architectural Hardware supplied some of the most sought after furniture fittings in the world. Their reputation built upon quality craftsmanship, using traditional skills manufacturing techniques supplying products made to the highest possible standards. This desk would have been custom made possibly for a shipping/ocean liner designed for two people to work at side by side with the benefit of being narrow and taking up the least amount of floor space, perfect for todays work from home culture.
