Mid Century Papa Bear Lounge Chair By Hans J Wegner For AP Stolen Danish 1960s

Magnificent Hans J Wegner (1940-2007) - An AP19 'Papa Bear' chair, otherwise known as a 'Bamsestol', designed 1951, this example dates to early 1960s, Rosewood framed, blue wool fabric button back upholstered, and raised on turned supports, this chairs is perfectly useable as is but would benefit from being re upholstered, I personally would leave it as is.
Provenance: This chair was bought in Denmark circa 1963, originally upholstered in green wool and later re-upholstered in the mid-1980s with the current wool recommended by the original manufacturer.

Condition Report: Frame is good solid condition with no weakness to joints, structurally very stable and stands well. Colour of rosewood is good and original. Fabric complete but lightly worn, especially to seat cover one button missing to back section. Webbed seat good and taut. Seat cushion slightly flat (stuffing may require replacing).
