Magnificent Ron Arad Double Soft Big Easy Sofa by Moroso Italy circa 1991, this collection has become something of a trademark, Its generous curves and voluptuous forms originated in the welded steel chair of the same name created in 1988, the foam and fabric version, though softer to touch, has lost nothing of the visual impact of its predecessor with its steel structure inserted into a fabric covered foam block, this version finished in apple green is certainly a show stopper and without a doubt will be the central focus of any installation.
Both playful and bright, Ron Arad transforms a traditional love seat into a cartoon-like shape, calling into question notions of taste within traditional design. Bordering on kitsch, Arad’s designs highlight his constant experimentation with the boundaries and possibilities of materials and it is through this experimentation that he has remained at the forefront of contemporary design and architecture.

The Big Easy steel chair designed by Ron Arad in 1988, shows that a volume, as simple form, can be translated, without compromising the design principles, through a reinterpretation of materials and production processes. The model obtained from a constructive gesture becomes industrial production; the visual softness and fullness of the volumes, comfort. Big Easy explores the rotational moulding and the use of polyethylene; Soft version in the cold-foaming and, with the polyester fibre cladding, the transformation of the tactile surface; in the elements of the collection, the morphology and the dynamic form.
Frame in steel and stress-resistant polyurethane foam upholstered with polyester fibre. Spring collection covers are not removable.

Ron Arad's constant experimentation with materials and his radical re-conception of the form and structure of furniture has put him at the forefront of contemporary design. Alongside his limited edition studio work, Ron Arad designs for many leading international companies including. His current architectural commissions include hotel projects in Italy, Spain, England, Mexico and a design museum in Israel. Arad is the winner of numerous design awards and his work appears in many public collections worldwide. He is currently Professor of Product Design at the Royal College of Art in London.
