A stunning antique Napoleon III Louis XV style marble topped mahogany commode chest of drawers, circa 1870, this chest dates to the late 19th century from the French Parisian Napoleon III period, the elegant brown variegated marble top over three long drawers all with brass drop handles and escutcheons, with working locks and one working key, the body of the chest with fine inlaid geometric design marquetry detail all over, the sides quartered with contrasting border, applied gilt metal mouldings with ormolu mounts to the sides all raised on shaped cabriole legs , ideal for the lounge, hallway, bathroom or bedroom, a sublime statement piece in every way.
