George III Mahogany Tallboy Chest on Chest Flame Fronted Circa 1810
George III Mahogany Tallboy Chest on Chest Linen Press Flame Fronted Circa 1810
A magnificent George III inlaid flame fronted mahogany tallboy chest on chest, circa 1810, the ornate overhanging moulded cornice above a pair of short cupboard doors, above two short and one long drawer over a pull-out brushing slide, flanked either side by brass capped fluted columns, the base fitted with three graduated drawers all with brass drop handles and raised on bracket feet, comes with one working key with tassel, this item comes in two sections.
Condition report: This piece is offered in very condition with minor age related wear and tear, all drawers and doors open and close smoothly with smell or odours, the unit separates into two sections making moving easier, the cornice is in good order with only minor losses where someone has removed a small section so that it would fit into a space as shown in images. The moulding beneath the cornice is in good order. The bracket feet are in good condition and appear to be original. We can see no evidence of any woodworm, overall a wonderful patina.
