Magnificent late 19th century Howard & Sons Chaplin Sofa England circa 1890, this elegant country house sofa with a split cushioned seat back with bolstered seat with two cushions, with two pillow cushioned arms, the sofa raised on tapered mahogany legs legs on brass castors stamped Howard & Sons, the back leg embossed with the serial number 1956 7068, the sofa has been newly and professionally reupholstered to the highest standard and reupholstered in original Howard & Sons initialled blue ticking fabric, an elegant and extremely comfortable sofa perfect for any setting.
Condition: Excellent condition, no weakness to joints, recently re upholstered from top to bottom, scuffs to feet, brass casters left in original condition with original patina and not polished, front two casters stamped Howard & Sons, rear casters not stamped.
