Sublime rare Jorge Zalszupin ‘Petals’ (Mesa Pétala) Rosewood coffee table manufactured by L’atelier movers SA circa 1973, the octagonal Petals coffee table was inspired by the folded paper structures of origami, the table composed of eight folded petals of Brazilian Rosewood on a metal round structure forming an octagonal shape, with a wonderful rich figured grain, the elegant curved wood making up its minimal and striking form, original L’Atelier manufacturers label to base, the table is the highly sought after and rarer smaller more practical version, the table code with official certificate from the Brazilian Gallery in Brasilia where the table was sourced from, reserve now.
Provenance: Private collection belonging to Barbara and Marcelo who work in the Brazilian Senate, collectors of modernist furniture for some year, they are one of the biggest collectors of Ivan Serpa in Brazil
Condition: The table is offered in excellent condition with minor age related wear, recently re-polished.
